- Stay Connected – Travel with a cell phone in case you need to call for help. It is also a great idea to travel with a portable charger as well. This way you know that your phone will always be charged.
- Keep Warm – Not only is it important to dress warm but it is also important to have some extra clothing in your car. A pair of gloves, a hat and a blanket would be a great addition to anyone’s car during the winter.
- Carry Tools – Tools like a shovel and ice scrapper can really come in handy during a storm. Also if you were to get stuck, a shovel would be a great tool to dig your tires out of the snow.
- Stay Hydrated – Bring a bottle of water and snack with you when you see the snow falling. Staying hydrated and energized is key to surviving a bad storm.
- See And Be Seen – It is important to keep your headlights and taillights clear of snow. This way other drivers will be able to spot you on the road. It is also important for you as a driver to be able to see clearly. Foggy windshields and dim headlights can lead to a very stressful trip on the road.
